ASSESSMENT

Solutions for Life Psychology provides comprehensive and accurate diagnostic assessments for a variety of mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, OCD, and developmental disorders, including ADHD, ASD, and memory and learning disorders. Our team of experienced professionals offers tailored psychometric assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. At Solutions for Life Psychology, we are dedicated to helping children and adolescents lead happier and healthier lives. We believe that group therapy is a powerful tool that can help individuals develop skills, build connections, and gain support from peers who are going through similar experiences. Our group therapy programs are designed to be engaging, educational, and transformative, with a focus on helping participants develop coping skills, emotional regulation strategies, and meaningful relationships.

Dr Kerry Marsh

Director / Principle Psychologist / Board Approved Supervisor

PhD (Psych) B.Psych(Hons) MAPS MAAPi DGPP

Kerry graduated in 2000 from Griffith University before commencing many years working in private practice and Government sectors of the community whilst completing her PhD on Bullying in High Schools. In her 23+ years of practice she has worked extensively with children, families, adolescents, and adults in the areas of ASD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD and has extensive experience in clinical/diagnostic/cognitive/learning assessment. She has also provided supervision for provisional psychologists since 2015.

Kerry is currently taking clients for assessment and CogMed training.

Abigail Pavia

Psychologist

BSC (Psych) (Hons1stClass) MAAPi

Abigail completed her undergraduate degree in psychology along with achieving 1st Class Honours at the University of Queensland. She subsequently completed a two-year Internship and the National Psychologist Exam. Abi uses CBT, ACT, Mindfulness and DBT in her work with children, adolescents and adults. 

Abigail has experience working with children in individual and group settings. She is proficient in working with anxiety, depression, phobias, ADHD, ASD, anger, stress, worry, grief and loss, and supporting parentings with behaviour strategies. Abigail also coordinates and runs two adolescent girls groups. Abigail has extensive experience with cognitive/academic assessment and diagnostic assessments.

Abigail is available to see child / adolescent and adult clients Tuesdays-Fridays

Lauren Van der Leest

Psychologist / Clinical Registrar

BPscyhSc., MPsych(Clin), Registrar

Lauren completed her Bachelor of Psychological Sciences (with Honours) degree at La Trobe University, achieving first class honours. She then went onto complete her Masters of Clinical Psychology at Bond University. Lauren is a registered psychologist and is currently completing her clinical registrar program, for endorsement as a clinical psychologist. 

Lauren has experience working with children, adolescents and adults in both individual and group settings. She is trained in a variety of treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. She is proficient in working with anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, borderline personality disorder, stress, worry, grief, ADHD, and ASD.

Lauren enjoys working with all ages across the lifespan, however she is passionate about early intervention and empowering parents and caregivers with the knowledge and skills they need to promote their child’s wellbeing. 

Lauren is available to see clients on Tuesday's and Friday's.

Kiana Bresic

Psychologist / Clinical Registrar

BPscyhSc., MPsych(Clin), Registrar.

Kiana is compassionate and empathetic psychologist dedicated to guiding individuals through life's challenges and helping them discover their inner resilience. Holding an undergraduate degree in psychology and criminology, an honours degree in psychology, and a master's degree in clinical psychology, Kiana brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her practice.

 Specialising in assisting young individuals with behavioural and emotional struggles, Kiana utilises evidence-based therapies and innovative techniques to facilitate their personal growth and healing. Her experience includes previously working with individuals across the lifespan in private practices, schools, and intake facilities. Kiana finds reward through all her individual sessions but has a special interest in group sessions and conducting psychological assessments.

Ryan Hooson

Provisional Psychologist

B.Psych GDip.Psych PsychAdv. MAAPi

Ryan completed his undergraduate degree in psychology at Griffith University in 2008. He continued in 2009, to complete a Graduate diploma in psychology from the Queensland University of Technology. After a period of international work and travel, Ryan completed an Advanced Graduate diploma in 2020, through Monash University. He is now undertaking his two-year Internship with Solutions for Life as a provisionally registered psychologist. Ryan utilises CBT, ACT, and Schema Therapy within his professional practice.

 

Ryan has experience working with adults, adolescents and children in individual and group settings. He enjoys working with anxiety, depression, phobias, ADHD, ASD, anger, aggression, sexualized behaviours, and self-esteem.

Ryan is available to see adolescents and adult clients

Tuesday to Friday.

Elise Arriagada-Huyskens

Psychology Student / Group Co-facilitator

Elise is completing a double degree in psychology and criminology at Griffith University. She co-ordinates and co-facilitates our Secret Agent Society and Asperteens groups.

Elise has a passion for working with young people and has developed her skills in working with people with disability through her co-facilitator and support role at Solutions For Life Psychology.

Julia Swain

Psychology Student / Group Co-facilitator

Julia is currently completing her bachelor of psychology with honours at Griffith University. She intends to pursue post-graduate studies and specialise in neurodiversity - an area she is particularly passionate about. Julia has experience in supporting people with disabilities and complex mental health conditions. Julia provides support as a co-facilitator for most of the groups.
